· LOWER URINARY TRACT SYMPTOMS

The symptoms related to lower urinary tract may not reliably indicate the underlying problem

· STRESS INCONTINENCE

Definition: The involuntary passage of urine at the time of raised intra-abdominal pressure [eg. Cough or sneeze] in the absence of any bladder muscle activity.

· OVERACTIVE DETRUSOR

Definition: Incontinence caused by an involuntary contraction of the Muscle of the wall of the bladder usually preceded by urgency [ie. An urgent need to pass urine].

· PROLAPSE

Definition: The downwards descent of a pelvic organ. Up to 50% of parous women will have a degree of prolapse. 30% of those women will require surgical correction.

· NEUROMODULATION

Definition: The alteration of the function of an organ or tissue by modulating its neural control.
